Hello,
what do I need to do to migrate SAP Netweaver 7.4 (ABAP and JAVA, Oracle 12g) systems to a new active directory domain?
Note 1233320 is talking about using the system rename function from SWPM, but that's not working - its messing up the Oracle configuration* if I use the same source/target SIDs (even on a clean new testsystem).
Do I need to use a full system copy?
*( from ora_sql_results.log: ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error)
Hi Hauke,
It impacts only if you use FQDN's and the domain users in your SAP system. For ABAP it can be done with few manual steps too but for JAVA it's something difficult and manual correction is not a best way to do it.
What is the error you are getting while renaming the system? It's a straight forward method in SWPM and it takes care of everything in the background with minimum downtime.

Hello Hauke,
I can confirm what Harish wrote.
SWPM's System Rename should take care of everything related to Domain change without messing
up anything. If it does in your case, upload the sapinst_dev.log for analysis or open a support
incident so we can check what has happened.
