Query as a Web Service can't see .unx universes to use as data source?

Hi,

I created a Universe using Information Designer. The Universe is published on the server as *.unx.

With Query as a Web Service Designer, I connect to the server to create a query. However, in "Choose a universe as a data source for the query", I do not see the *.unx Universes, I only see *.unv Universes.

Both software are the latest version (XI 4.0).

Anyone know what is the issue here?

Thanks,

It could be silly, but

1. did you by chance selected the list of file type as .unv?

2. do you have any predefined .unx files?

3. Did you refer the Query as a webservice document?

1. There is nowhere to select the file type, QaaWS detects the published Universes automatically. (anyone can correct me if i'm wrong).

2. Yes I have predefined .unx files, and they are published in the server, and they can be seen in Information Design.

3. According to the documentation I have, it does not mention about unx and unv.

Hi,

This is by design.

If you wish to generate a WSDL off a UNX universe, go through BI Web services in Webi rich client.

Hi there,

So in QaaWS tool, therefore, only UNV files are seen?

Regarding going through WebI Rich client > Web Services, how do I generate a URL?

In WebI Rich client this is already sourcing the Web Service (provided i already have a URL)...

I am confused with this.

Can someone please reply?

I am having the same issue. I have created a .unx Universe which I can see via CMC, but I dont see it in Qwery As A Web Service Designer tool (4.0).

Any ideas on what may be the cause?
