Database Backup Failed With BKI4008E in Quality Server

In our quality server database backup failing due to

BKI0005I: Start of program at: Mon Apr 11 14:46:13 BEIST 2011 .

BKI4008E: File '/tmp/qpaV6Ui5w' cannot be opened. Reason: errno(89) Invalid file system control data detected.

BKI2024E: Error in connection to ProLE.

BKI9204E: Additional support information: An exception was thrown at position: esd-portalcommunicator.cpp(327) (text=BKI9217E: Additional support information: An exception was t

).

Please advice the needful !

    Hello Mr. Shishir

    which tools you are using for taking bakups,

    are you using SAP BRTOOLs to take back up or any third party tools for back up.

    If you are using third party tools for back up and noticed errors mentioned below in job log

    eg :

    BR0229I Calling backup utility with function 'backup'...

    BR0278I Command output of '/usr/sap/P58/SYS/exe/run/backint -u P

    backup -i /oracle/P58/saparch/.adxqgrkf.lst -t file -p

    /oracle/product/10.2.0/db/dbs/initP58.utl -c':

    say in here when BRTOOLs is calling external tool for back up it is failing ,

    may be you also can notice such kind of errors in job log details. In this case

    I recon you to check with your SW provider reagrds to this.

    If you are using BRBACK up for taking backup can please provide job log details so that can help little in detail.
