PSAP<SID> tbs size 90GB -> 140 GB after ECC5 -> ECC6 EhP4 upgrade

Hello,

We have upgraded our system from ECC5 to ECC6 Ehp4.

Our SAPPRD tbs, that cotains our FI/CO/HCM datas has grown from 90 GB to 150 GB.

Is it do to lot of fragmentation due to the copy/delete in it?

If yes, should I do a full reorg of it in it

If no, why has it increases of 50% as our datas have not changed?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

    Hi,

a reorg might help, but you will not get back 50GB.

    Hi,

When you upgrade system to EHP4, then there is increase in space of about 20-30%. But you can regain some space by deleting old tablespace as mentioned in post upgrade steps in upgrade guide.

    Thanks

      Hello,

Yes, I have deleted the old tbs.

But thread is only concerning PSAPSID which should not be deleted,

      I will check your note.

    Hi,

ist the space really used, or do you have now a lot of freespace in PSAPSID?

If there is a lot of freespace, you proably hit the "unneccessary cluster conversion" bug,

which could have been avoided, by applying the corresponding notes before the upgrade.

If the space is really still used, it might be possible the some of the loaded

tables have been redirected to a wrong tablespace, may be due to wrong

TABART settings. In this case, you should see less space used than expected in PSAPSID700.

      Hello Volker,

How can I figure out if I have lots of free space?

In db02, it does not shows free space.

How could I check my tabart settings?

Thanks in advance for your answer.
