Territory Management: Is Exclusion Possible?

Implementing CRM 7.0.

Scenario: Account 11111 is assigned via a Geo-Based Rule (County) to Territory ZZZZZ. For this account, the business would like to have an exception whereby this account is assigned to Territory XXXXX instead.

Direct Assignment can be used to assign the account to XXXXX, but it does not remove the account from ZZZZZ. With direct assignment, this account will persist in both XXXXX and ZZZZZ. The business requirement is that the account ONLY exist in a single territory.

Is there a way to set up a new rule that will EXCLUDE any other rules?

Could I set up an Account Based rule and if accessed first, the system will not look for any other rules (Account or Geo based)?

Thanks for your help!

    Hello,

    Same problem here.

    CRM7.0

    Did u find an answer?

The funny thing is that you cannot delete the previous rule or de-activate it or change the validity....

and at help.crm it says that you can assign multiple accounts to multiple territories. Why? what is the use if there is no restriction?

    thank you in advance
