Add new sapdata in ORACLE HP-UX env

Hello,

We are thinking of adding 2 new sapdatas (sapdata5, sapdata6) to the existing sapdatas. We currently have four sapdatas.

Our system is a Netweaver Oracle 10g system on HP-UX 11.23.

Does anyone know the procedure to add a new sapdata?

your SAN and Unix admin wil ltake care of this for you.

your job will be to create new datafiles in these sapdata(s). when creating a new datafile, simply change the path to the new ones.

We were aware that the UNIx team would have to create the file systems, but once the file system is created and a new directory with the sapdata# name is created under /oracle/<SID> ; is all we have to do is start using ii in brtools > extend tablespace > specify new path in option 3?

yes, that's it.

also make sure you set permissions properly on these directories..
