MDUS Interface with PI

Hi,

I have query from a customer who wants to use the EHP4 MDUS Interface for SAP-ISU.

More info:(http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ESpackages/AdvancedMeterInfrastructure)

Customer does not want a PI license.

Is it possible to use the MDUS interface without PI or is PI compulsorily required?

Thanks in advance fro your help!

Regards,

Shams

Basically, PI provides the infrastructure for making the enterprise service a web service or other means of availability to the outside world.

Otherwise, if the ECC module is installed, find the particular inbound proxy method manually and expose it as a web service on the ecc system it self. SOAMANGER helps in this regard. Be advised that most of the companies do not expose their ecc system directly to outside world.

Hi Vijay,

We are trying to integrate PI with MDUS too running AMI scearios.

What is the difference in using PI 7.0 vs PI 7.1 in this case we can still leverage PI webservices from ECC and is there any use of bringing in PI 7.1? Also if you could send me any literature reg PI config for MDUS to dayanad2965atrediffmail.com

Thanks in advance

Hi Shams

I am currently working with an ISU customer who also has a MDUS. With PI the integration is amazing. So you should try to convince your customer by saying that he can consume standard ISU Enterprise Services with PI and if required PI can perform lot of enhancement in those ES.

If you want to do without PI, depending on your scenario go for FTP based exchange.

Let me know if you if this helps.
