How to enter variable descriptions in different languages

I have a need to enter variable descriptions in different languages. Currently, I have a query that can be used in both the US and Belgium. The query has a mandatory variable for the entry of the actual goods issued date. The description of the variable is in English. When my Belgium customers try to run the query, and their language setting is set to French, they are seeing the variable technical name. I am assuming this is because I have not entered a French description for it. Where can I enter the French description as well. I checked the variable creation and maintenance screen and it appears that only one description is allowed.
