Direct Upgrade from Solution Manager SP16 to SP26

Dear All;

l have Solution Manager SP16, l need to upgrade to SP26.

Please advise if l can upgrade directly from SP16 --> SP26?

Do l have upgrade from SP16 - > Sp20 first for EHP1, then only from SP21 to SP26, l am not sure.

If not, what is the proper upgade path?

Please assist.

Thanks your input.

l found some information regarding Ehpinstaller, it seems like this tool can be use to install the SP16 to EHP1. But l am not sure if it can update to SP26 in one go.

Can you advise?

Btw, do you where l can find the information of how to use the Maintenance Optimizer (MOPZ) in Solution Manager to get the XML file and calculate the SP queue?

According with note 1169247 - Additional info for Solution Manager 7.0 EHP1 update that was updated today with SP26 informations.

Two clarifications here

===============================================================================

- You CAN"T use EHPI

o Using the Enhancement Package Installer (EHPI)

- You can perform the update only using SAINT and JSPM. Using the EHPI is not intended and is not supported. Ignore the corresponding message in transaction SAINT.

o ABAP stack requirements

You can start the SAINT update from any Solution Manager 7.0 ABAP Stack.

o Java stack requirements

A direct JSPM update to Solution Manager 7.0 Java Stack 18 and higher is not possible from some of the Java stacks. Therefore, proceed as follows: First, use the JSPM update to update the Java stack only to Solution Manager 7.0 Java stack 17 and then update to the relevant Solution Manager 7.0 Enhancement Package 1 Java stack. Take the numbering into account: Solution Manager 7.0 Java stack 17 contains NetWeaver 7.0 Java stack 16.

Hello Mr Tan,

As far as I know, it should be possible to go directly into EHP1 as of SP15. It should be possible to go from SP16 to SP26 in one go, if you take care to generate an XML either with Maintenance Optimizer (please read note 1274430 carefully) or with the Support Package stack download app at http://service.sap.com/sp-stacks. In the update guide at http://service.sap.com/instguides it is mentioned that the process to go from Solution Manager 7 to EHP1, you should use SAINT and JSPM, with the generated XML.

The cautious approach would be to upgrade to the following steps:

1. SP16 to SP17 (pre-EHP1)

2. SP17 to SP18 (EHP1)

3. SP18 to SP26 (latest version of EHP1)
