Performance issue and data getting interchanged in BO Webi report + SAP BW

Hi,

We are using SAP BW queries as the source for creating some BO reports.

Environments :

SAP - SAP BI 7.1

BO - BO XI 3.1

Issues :

The reports were working fine in Dev and Q with less data. But when we point the universes to BW prod ( where we have much data), the reports are taking quite a long time to refresh and getting timed out. This query has some key figures which are having customer exits defined to show only one month data. And also BW accelerators are updated for the infocubes pertaining to this query. The BO report is giving data if we apply a filter in 'Query Panel' of Webi to show only current month dates. But then the issue is the values are getting interchanged for many objects. For ex: there are 2 objects- ABS version and Market region. The values are getting interchanged in the BO level.

Please let us know if anything needs to be done in BO or BW to fix this issue if anyone has faced the same

Also Please let us know if customer exits and accelerators works fine with BO

Thanks

Sivakami

Hi Sivakami,

probably SAP OSS Notes 1400466 and 1446246 are relevant about data interchanged.

Kind regards.

Roberto.

Hi,

Thanks Roberto. We'll check the notes

@Ingo,

We are able to solve the performance issue by removing unused Key figures and dimensions from the query, but the column value interchange issue still persisits

The build version is - 12.3.0

Query Stripping

-

Where should we enable query stripping? When i went through some documentation it was written that it'll be enabled automatically from XI 3.1 Sp3. Can you please let us know if its so and what we need to do to enable it.

The coulmn interchange is happening when we use dimensions in a certain order. When product type is used along with Market region. Market region shows values of Product type also in Webi report.

Thanks & Regards,

Query Stripping can be enabled from WebIntelligence.

Open the report, Edit Report mode, right click --> select document properties.

You could see list of check boxes. One check box is for Query Stripping.

hi Gowtham,

Thanks for your reply.

But in our Webi report -> Document properties the query stripping check box is disabled. Can you tell us what can be the reason?

Query Stripping is enabled in 'Edit Query' mode and inside "Properties" of Webi Query Panel. Even after enabling this, the data interchange issue is still there.

The issue is with this query only. We have some other queries and they are all giving corresponding data only in Webi also.

Hi,

have you tried to execute the query as defined in the Web Intelligence report in transaction RSRT ?

when comparing make sure that all elements used by Web Intelligence are in the rows in the BEx query designer.

Hi Ingo,

We tried executing the query as defined in WebI and having the objects in Rows of BEx. There we didnt get any issue of data interchange. But in Webi its still there. I can explain one of the data interchange issue as below

We have Market Region, Positioning Segment and some key figures in Query panel -

Data comes correctly

When we add 'Product Key' in 'Query Filter' Area of Webi query Market Region is showing values of 'Product Key' also. This does not happen when we use Product Key in both query panel and result objects.

Hi,

- which patch level are you using from SAP BUsinessObjects ?

- did you run the query in transaction RSRT to compare the performance ?

And important when you compare you need to put all items that are part of the Web Intelligence query panel on the rows / columns of your BEx query and then execute the report.

are you using Query stripping for the Web Intelligence report ?

thanks
