Netweaver 7.01 EHP1 - Dialog Instance on Windows 2008 R2

Hi Forum,

I would like to install a new Dialog Instance on Windows 2008 R2.

In the Windows FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions - SAP on Windows Server 2008 R2) I found the prerequisite "SAP products based on SAP NetWeaver 7.0 SR3 or higher ". We use the Netweaver 7.01 EHP1 with a new Kernel (Patch 126). So I think that's ok, isn't it?

The next step is to find the right installation sources. I think the old sources (for example: ZIP 51036767_5 BS 7 SR1 UC-Kernel 7.01 Windows Server on x64 64bit Info 359757 13.04.2009 ) are ok, but should I use the latest installation Master (BS 7 SR1 Installation Master Windows Server on x64 64bit or BS 7 SR1 or BS2005 SR3 Installation Master Windows Server on x64 64bit) ?

Best regards and thanks for your support,

Andreas Lösel

Hi,

now I have installed the Applserver and the server works. You use simply the original Installationmaster and Kernel-DVD for EHP 7.01. Before you begin to install you copy windows kernel dir NTAMD64 to NTAMD64_ORIGINAL. Then you install. After that you copy the NTAMD64_ORIGINAL back to NTAMD64, because the patchlevel of the kernel on the DVD is 32 and our kernel is patchlevel 126.

For installation you use the "old" instguide for 7.01. And if read Windows Server 2008 then you know that means for me Windows Server 2008 R2.

Here some Notes you should read:

Hinweis 1486772 - SAP-Systeme unter Windows Server 2008 R2

Hinweis 684106 - Microsoft Laufzeit DLLs --> vredit_x64.exe

Hinweis 1480785 - Anlegen einer modifizierten Windows-Kernel-DVD --> I don't use this because I think it's easier to copy the NTAMD64

And the other things are the same as Windows 2003 Server.

Best regards,

Andreas

Hi Markus,

thanks for your support.

Now I'm sure that we have a possible Netweaver version for 2008R2.

Andreas

Check

Note 1486772 - SAP Systems on Windows Server 2008 R2

You may need to build a customized kernel DVD. But you have to make sure all the servers (including the CI) are running the same kernel versions.
