Hello all,
We are in the process of migrating from one BPC application set to another application set. The new application set and the old application set has some common dimensions but the new application set also new dimensions and dimension members that are not present in the old application set.
We are now trying to migrate the reports from the old application set to the new application set. As a first step we are trying to open the reports from the old application set in the new application set to make the necessary changes in the dimensions and dimension member. But I get the following error message when I open report: "Invalid application name:FINANCE" (Finance being the name of the application in the old appset).
I get this error message even when I change the application name offline and reopen the report in the new appset. Interestingly, I get the error message even when I delete all the contents of the report. Strangely, I get this error in some reports (not all) and I cannot determine a pattern.
Have any of you encountered this problem? If so, would you know why this error is caused. Is the application name by any chance hard coded somewhere... since I get the error even when I clear all the contents of the spreadsheet (I mean all- all formulae, texts, values everything)
Thank you & regards
Raja
You will also get the error even if you move a copy of the report tab into a new workbook, but I find that copying the sheet and pasting it into a new workbook will fix the issue. If you have many reports it might make more sense to temporarily add the old application name to your system until you've converted, refreshed, saved all the reports then delete it.
