COPA

Hi

Please check the following discussion

What I understand is that COPA entry is only with VA88 where there is 'Product Cost By SAles Order" .

Where there is no sales order costing but Production Order is the cost object and the sequence is Sales Order -> MRP Run - > Planned Order - > Production Order we are doing CO88. In this case is COPA document is created at Billing?

Is it different with Process Orders and production Orders????/

Hi

1. Yes.. Where Sales order is a CO object - VA88 generates COPA doc

2. Where there is no sales order costing but Production Order is the cost object and the sequence is Sales Order -> MRP Run - > Planned Order - > Production Order we are doing CO88. In this case is COPA document is created at Billing?

Yes.. In MTS, COPA doc is generated at billing....

3. The scenario remains the same with prod orders / process orders

Neeraja-

Product cost by sales order, means it will be used in a MTO scenario and sales order here acts as a cost object. All the costs would flow to the sales order and when the sales order is delivered or billed, depending on the settings in WIP, costs will be settled to COPA. This is standard.

If i understand correct, what you are asking is in case of a production order as a cost object and that production order is created via MRP run for a sales order. First of all, if a production order is created via sales order, it means the settlement rule in the production order will be automatically created and receiver will be sales order. This way all the costs will have to go to sales order. Also in this case, sales order will be called as cost object and not production order. So you would have to go through the complete cycle of KKAX, CO88 for production order and KKAK and VA88 for sale order to settle.

In MTS scenario, you will make parts to stock and if there are variances in the end, they will be settled when you run CO88. Billing is of no relevance here as you would not bill a production order.

Hope this helps.
