I have an functionality idea that I would like to propose with everyone and understand why it is not currently available in SAP? I've been looking for a quick solution for end-users to allow them to convert their detailed reports to PDF. I know there is a function module which converts print spools to a PDF file but this is not straightforward for end-users. Also I don't want to add a virtual PDF printer driver footprint to the end-user workstations.
If a user is attempting to save a file in the SAPGui when choosing the following menu path SYSTEM - LIST - SAVE - LOCAL File only the following formats are permitted:
- Rich text format
- HTML Format
- In the Clipboard
Why can't SAP include PDF format in this list? This would be such a great place holder to allow end-users to produce their own PDF files. It would be great if it would call the Adobe reader and display the report in PDF format. This would then allow the user to print any specific pages or save it to file.
Any feedback or comments are welcomed.
