Hello All !

I created a multi tab dashboard but when I view it today, there are two componernts (spinners) which are invisible on design mode and only visible on preview mode. How can I view them in design mode to make changes??

Thank you in advance for any help!

Hi,

Just open the Object window (Ctrl+5) Over there check all the Compnents will be listed which are available on the canvas.

Some time we hide it during design time.

Beside that component list if anything is ticked just uncheck it.

For you i suggest you to uncheck all the components in the Object window.

Note: If it is ticked then it will be displayed as Correct mark else it will look like a dot.

Try this out and let me know if you need further assistance.

Regards,

AnjaniKumar C.A.

Helllo Anjani and Debjit!

First an apology for not answering before, which was due to the fact that now the forum does not notify you when an answer to a question was posted, as it used to.

This is a weird case. Actually, the first thing I did was to look on the Object Browser and neither of the three spinner invisible components is checked. However, when I click on any of the spinner components on the OB, three dots appear on the spot where each spinner should be depicted..... As I could not find a solution, I erased the whole tab from the multi tab canvass and created it anew. This is the only thing you can do, because while you can insert new components in the canvass, the old ones invisible in DESIGN mode will appear in PREVIEW, showing over the new ones...... Once finished. I toggled from DESIGN to PREVIEW mode and the three spinners were still there. I grouped the spinners to slider components. That was yesterday. Today, I opened the canvas and lo and behold! the three spinner components were invisible again! in DESIGN mode! I decided to ungroup them and to my surprise, the invisible components appeared once again..

What on earth is going on here!!!!!!!!...

Hi,

You didnt mentioned Xcelsius version no. If none of the Fix Packs are installed I would suggest you to install Hotfix in sequence. I use to face this issue before installing any hotfixes.

Debjit.

Debjit, now the forum notified me of a new reply (Yours) !!

Xclesius ENGAGE: 5.3.2.0.

Build Number: 12,3,2,864

I believe I have the 3.4 version and i don't think I downloaded any new fix sequentially because i was told once by a Forum moderator that it was not necessary as the latest contained all the previous ones. You think I'm up to date?

Thanks

I don't we give it a try and install Fix Pack 3.3.

In my case this is how it got resolved. After installation replicate the scenario again and then see if the issue appears again.

Good Luck.

Do you think there will be no problem if I download the 3.3 while having alleady the 3.4? I(I have VISTA)

The instructions state:

Xcelsius 2008 Fix Pack 3.3 (FP3.3) is the first version of Xcelsius 2008 that supports Windows 7 (see notes section below)

It is now available from Service Marketplace and the support download site:

This Fix Pack must be applied to Xcelsius 2008 SP3 (version: 5.3.0.0) or FP3.1 or FP3.2: Xcelsius 2008 SP3 is now available_

u2022 The Xcelsius Present 2008 Fix Pack 3.3 patch is for Xcelsius 2008 SP3 Present only.

u2022 The Xcelsius Enterprise 2008 Fix Pack 3.3 patch is both for Xcelsius 2008 SP3 Engage and Enterprise.

Make sure you download the self extracting file and run it from your hard drive.

Hi,

You don't need to install fix packs sequentially. If you have SP3 with no fix packs, you can install FP3.5. If you have FP3.1/3.2/3.3 or 3.4 you can also install FP3.5 on top of this.

If you are not on SP3, you must first install SP3 before installing FP3.5.

In short, whatever number the fix pack starts with, you must have that SP level installed.

Hope that helps!

David, thank you for your input!

I am however a little confused:

1) I checked, and the FP3.5 is no where to be found; only FP 3.4.

2) I think I have SP3...how can I check what I have and have yet not downloaded?

Thanks!

You can download SP 3.5 from below link

[http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/downloads?rid=/webcontent/uuid/5072b9d3-b530-2e10-b191-ff2fe6d395de] [original link is broken];

You can check your Xcelsius version :

Open Xcelsius -> Help -> About Xcelsius

The version number will be structured as follows: [Product Version].[Service Pack Number].[Fix Pack Number].0.

Thanks Debjit!

In a previous post on this thread, I wrote the Xcelsius version and build number

Xcelsius ENGAGE: 5.3.2.0.

Build Number: 12,3,2,864

which according to the code you kindly provided, it means I do have the SP3 installed. I clicked on the link you provided, but the SP3.5 does not appear. I clicked on Xcelsius Enterprise 2008 and i get a message that there is a problem with the certificate and that the page is not trusted. Shall I go ahead anyway?

Thanks!

Debjit,

I did delete them, but the new spinner components are still invisible as before. Curiously, they are the only invisible components. I wonder why is this happening!!!

The problem has not been solved, so i guess it must be an unresolved bug from Xcelsius, and it would not be the first time.

Thank you all for taking the time to try to help me!
