    what i heard is:

they first concentrate working on ESS-WebDynpros which will be delievered with ERP.

IMHO, they'll deliever MSS versions with ERP, too.

somebody of the SAPlers have detailed information?

    • Hi,

      thanks for your quick answers.

We want to evaluate the technology :

1/ pro's and con's of this new version : how easy/difficult is it to configure? how easy is it to change the screens/process? Do we need to go into NWDS to add/delete a field of the webdynpro application?

2/ as most customers, we have a R/3 backend in 4.7 Enterprise. I have installed the evaluation version of WAS 6.40 and EP 6.0 downloaded from SDN.

I imported the business package for 'Compensation specialists'. In this business package, it contents webdynpros iviews which refer to webdynpro applications, which if I understand well, is the only missing part that we don't have. (I didn't find in this business package, the 'JSP support'.)

I suppose that to have everything work, we only need to copy/import one of these webdynpro applications which are missing. For the part of calling bapis/RFC, there is a lot of documentation, this is not a problem.

We want to know if is possible to get one of this webdynpro application as an example. It can be in the area of compensation management but it can be in another area in MSS, or in ESS as well.

By investigating this way, we want to know :

      - is it possible to install only a WAS 6.4 + EP6 + import webdynpros applications to have ESS/MSS work instead of upgrading the whole system to SAP ERP 2004?

      - is the missing component the ECC 5.0? And then would it be possible to have only one small piece of this for evaluation?

My questions are maybe already in the consultancy area. But any input will be of course much appreciated.

      Regards,

      Huy
