error in delivery creation

Friends,

I have created a sales order thru VA01.,,now when i am creating a delivery for it thru VL01N, system is not allowing to create delivery and giving error msg " the delivery type is only intended for internal use"

Plz suggest.

in the delivery type config Transaction OVLK, check the Document Catergory.

Document type (VBTYP) should be "J", there are certain other categories which if maintained could cause this error.

I tried to simulate  the same scenerio in IDES. Could u please share the document  type screen shot .

now when i am creating a delivery for it thru VL01N,

check   predefined delivery  type  has been mentioned check and revert

Hi,

In addition to all points to be checked above, please check at Sales Order header level, Shipping tab, "Complete Delivery" check box should be unchecked.

Go to VOV8, select your sale order type and execute. There check what delivery type is assigned. You have to assign the required delivery type under the tab Shipping. Also ensure that the same combination is maintained in VTLA

Which delivery type you are using.

Use standard LF.

If you have customized your own delivery type then compare your settings with LF

Check your copy control settings for deliveries in VTLA to see if the sales document types is defined for the delivery document type in question.
