When to take System Offline

Hi Gurus,

This might be a general question for you.

While processing the dimension what are the diffrent scenario where we have to take the system offline???

And

What the scenario where we can process the dimension without taking the system offline??

If you are just adding new members to an existing hierarchy, you dont have to take the syetm offline. If you are changing the hierarchy then you will need to take the system offline because it will need do a full process to see the changes in the cube. Hope this helps.
