SAP PI - MDM Integration

Could you help me understand what are the major integration challenges of PI to MDM. I am looking to automate the migration of millions of records from PI to MDM.

Since the MDM adapter does most of the jobs in order to handle the MDM data properly, the challenges is creating the scenario as following:

Create the scenario, like MDM syndication -> PI MDM adatpter -> XI -> PI MDM Adapter -> MDM Import Server.

You can still use the Import Manager and manual Syndication, in case it is not a periodic process to be performed. Please let me know if you need more advises.

Thanks for the reply. What should be the approach taken for initial load of MDM data. ie. without taking the PI route.

For migrating MDM? If you don't have any special requirements (like usage of GDS), you can just perform the manual syndication and then import using the Import manager on target MDM system. Does this address your question?

EDIT: Also, I guess guys on MDM forum could aid you better in this question.
