Payroll Canada YE - How to Cancel Tax reporting to Revenu Canada?

Hi,

My client has generated T4 tax forms and sent them to Revenu Canada and would like to cancel some of the T4 that were produced by mistake. Thses employees should not have T4 forms for 2010.

How can we produce a T4 cancelation run to generate the input file to Revenu Canada?

What was the source of the T4s? Payroll Data or Year-End Adjustments?

Correcting the source, when possible, is usually the best practice.

Otherwise, create Year-End Adjustments to cancell the T4 information and generate an amended T4.

Cancellation of Filed T4 can be done only by Amending the T4 for the employee with Zero amount only.

Hello Nathalie,

Kindly identify why the employee's have generated T4 initially. If they have earnings needs to be reported in T4 or not. If the employee is having the earnings by mistake then adjust the amount to become zero in the boxes, So that you can generate a Zero value Amendment run to be filed to Revenue canada since you have already filed the T4 Production.
