Planned vs actual material availibility date in sales order

Hi,

We have created a sales order for material A on 4.4.11. the material availability date is 11.4.11 in sales order. my questions are :-

a) if I create the delivery on 4.4.11 (by using selection date as 11.4.11), the system will allow me to create the delivery on 4.4.11 but will i be able to do picking and PGI considering the fact that the stock will be available only on 11.4.11 ?

b) If one is able to do the PGI/PICKING on 4.4.11 (with planned MAD as 11.4.11).. what are the factors which will allow the system to do the PGI/PICKING on 4.4.11 and how will we as users know about the same that PGI can be done on 4.4.11( when material availability date= 11.4.11 ) ....Do we need to run some report for this kind of situation before we are sure we can do the PGI/picking ?

Usually I adjust the ATP settings (e.g. for checking group 02 / checking rule B) so that the delivery item will create when there is sufficient stock.

The advantage is to this is that the warehouse isn't trying to pick material that the system 'knows' is not available. Don't assume the delivered settings match the business need - in most cases the ATP rules should be changed.)

If MAD is 11.4.2011, then you can't pick/PGI on 4.4.2011. The system will provide error message that there is no stock.

To find the status of the stock and further the user can pick/PGI or not, the user can use t.code MD04/CO09.
