Conversion Server

Hi,

we want to implement a ceonversion server : http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60/helpdata/en/a5/2c6b39530dbd25e10000000a11402f/frameset.htm

Does anybody have experience? Is it necessary in case of performance issues to use a separate

server for conversion ? Are there additional license to purchase ?

Kind regards

Andreas Laaser

We have an record management in our sap systems with different documents inside, such as tiff , office documents, ...

and we want to use the converter for printing all these documents...

by pressing the button "printing" we got the message, that there's no conversion server available and know we want

to inform us about possibiities and use of conversion server

What you install is just an interface to an external converter, it's not SAP software doing the conversion but a 3rd party software.

Depending on how many documents you intend to convert it's not a bad idea to have a separate machine for that.

You said that you want to set up a conversion server... for what purpose? We use it to convert CAD/CAM data (Unigraphics) - but the actual converter software is provided by the vendor, not by SAP.

I'd fist try to find out what your business case/reason is why you want to set it up and then check what are the requirements 😊
