Hi,
I have configured a no of plant sections for Plant maintenance purpose. I hve a list of FL to which several equipments have been already installed. Now when I add the field value in Plant section of the FL master, the values gets copied automatically to all the pieces of equipments installed under that FL. There is the Data origin from the FL into Equi master.
Is it becuse this is a common field between Equipment and FL...
How can I prevent this? Any suggestions so that the value gets updated in FL master only... Please answer,,

Hi Sheikh Murad,
The system gives you the flexibility for such a requirement, When you are installing any equipment at a functional location, You have an option of Install with Data Transfer, Using this option you can specify the fields that are to be copied from the superior location and the fields that would be individually maintained so what you can do is maintain the plant section field individually. This would serve the purpose.

Usman
Hi,
you have to select data origin of particular field in equipments to 'Maintained Individually'. In this case the field will not inherit it's value from superior object.

Hello Martin Kucharcik
Please tell me the steps to maintain the data in the field individually so that the values are not copied from FL to Equipments installed under that FL.
After adding the data in the field "Plant Section" i checked the box for Individual maint in Edit-Data origin but after saving the data is still getting copied to all the pieces of equipemnts installled under that FL.
Please provide me the steps to avoid this data transfer from FL to Equipments....
Thanks a ton....
