BEx WAD UI Stops working after loading template

Former Member

I have recently received the 7.2 GUI and now when I open a web template (that I have already set up a transport for and also ones that I have not) The UI stops working. More specifically the Standard Windows Tool Bar stops working. I cannot Open, Save, Save As, Close or any of the Standard Windows functions. The Minimize, Restore, and Exit buttons in the upper right hand corner also have stop working. I then have to End the task from my Task Manager. I can then open the app and it will load another template for me, but with the same results.

Here is another scenario that I tried to help isolate the issue. I opened the WAD and create a new web template and saved it. I then restarted the application and reopened the recently created template. I had the same results. I was hoping that this would not happen and it would point me to an issue with editing templates that have been transported and maybe a new process I was unaware of. However this did not pan out.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello all,

Try to follow these steps:

1. Go to Transaction: SE16

2. Enter the table name "RSZWMDITEM" and press enter.

3. Enter the value for MDITEMNAME as "TARTITLE" and execute.

4. If you find entries for TARTITLE,then please delete all these

entries from the table.

After this, please do the following:

1. Open Web Application Designer.

2. Go to Tools -> Settings -> Refresh Metadata -> OK

Now close and restart the web application designer.

This should solve the issue.

Thanks

Best Regards,

Edward John

I ended up working with basis on this. It turned out to be EP2 relates (we had also just applied that to our system). I know that a note was applied to fix this issue and then we had to make sure we had the latest build of both 7.1 and 7.2 versions of the GUI as the issue was happening in both. If I can find out the SAP Note number I will post it.
