Hi Experts,

In my windows system i have in directory 😧 the usr and ehpi installer, and in directory L: the downloaded files per MOPz.

I will set privileges of FULL CONTROL for everyone in this units, but the error appears again.

I'm logged with SIDadm and I also give FULL CONTROL to SapServiceSID and SIDadm user, between others.

Attached the log of ehpi installer.

Hello Manfred,

if SCANCAR.LOG starts begin writted, but then it stops/disappears, so it might not be an access rights problem.

As Markus said, if you're using NFS mounted paths, please change it to a local path. Or check for intermittent network problems in accessing this location. What is(are) the OS involved, if you're using a remote directory?

Another strong possibility is the usage of anti virus software, if this is Windows OS of course. Note #106267 has more information on it. Please turn it off and repeat the phase. Altough this sounds somewhat dumb, antivirus software can cause many problems in a SAP system - and we have some documented cases like yours.

Please let us know if this helps.

Dear Tomas Black,

Thanks for your valuable reply,

I got the same problem and resolved by Disabled the Anti-Virus on the Server.

Hello to all,

I faced the same problem during the EHP6 upgrade using the SUM tool, in phase PREP_EXTRACT/SCAN_DOWNLOADDIR (when the process tried to create the file SCANCAR.LOG) and I solved the problem with the same solution that is report here, I disabled the Anti-Virus and also the firewall on the server!

Thank you everyone

Is this a local directory? Or is it somewhere "mounted"?

Does SAPService<SID> has access to that directory too?
