Hi,

We are trying to the delete the material from MDM using data manager. The IDoc is sent to R/3 but it fails with the following log messages.

****************

The data for the maintenance statuses K cannot be transferred

The material cannot be maintained since no maintainable data transferred

****************

what are we missing on the R/3 side?

Thx,

Krishna.

Hi,

This means the data transferred is incorrect.

I guess you are sending values for LVORM,try sending "X" as the value from MDM for LVORM at company or storage location ;evel wherever you are trying to flag the material for deletion.

Just take care of the data you are sending you should be able to flag the material but yes take care that material does not have PR/PO open.

Thanks,

Ravi

Hi,

I am sorry for not posting my question clearly,we are trying to setup "Deletion flag at Client Level" on the material.

The IDOC comes in and fails with the log messages I posted earlier. IDOC has E1MARAM-LVORM set to 'X' on it.

When I try to use MM06 direclty it work with no problems.

Thx,

Krishna.

If you want to send LVORM data to already created record and getting this error then you are not sending master record for the organizational levels and data fields specified, or user departments selected.

This message can appear if there is no maintainable user department left.

This occurs in absence of an entry in required fields does not then necessarily result in an error, the number of maintainable user departments is reduced accordingly.

Go step by step, check with record with fewer entries and then send to ECC maintaining Deletion Flag.

Then send the record you want maintaning all the entries.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Ravi

Hi,

You shouldn't physically delete any records in my opinion. What you need is a material lifecycle proces where a deletion is handled through status. X-plant and plant specific status. Then a material can be 'deleted' this way.

You would still want to follow up on history on a particular material record. So a deletion is not a good idea.

Hello Krishna

You can delete material record in MDM without problem.

But not in fact that you can delete that material in ERP because in ERP that material might have related records, documents etc.,etc.

For deleting material from ERP you should get unique material record key from MDM

that is mean next : in MDM and in ERP similar material should have identical unique key

or unique record material key in MDM should be related to unique master material key in ERP.

For sending material record key to ERP

you can use process:

1) syndicator- PI(XI)-idoc

2) connect to mdm through api

i dont know exacly which kind of integration you used

i think, problem on ERP side (you can't delete material master record in ERP)
