Correct set up of Source Lists with ME01, MM02 and SPRO ?

Hi All

i have not been able to find an answer for this, can you help

i want to maintain source lists, and don't understand, is it possible to only maintain through ME01/2 and the Material Master (Purchasing Tab). (also will ME01 update the MM)

I have also heard, Source List needs to activated / configured via SPRO >> Purchasing >> Source LIst >> Define... etc.

Is this correct. What happens if this is not done. Will changes in ME01 and MM still function or be lost

Further, if SPRO... is activated, do we have to have Source Lists for every material in the plant. Is it Mandatory once SPRO becomes activated

Hi

Maintain source list using t-code ME01

If u maintain source list at plant level (SPRO>Pur>Source) you have to maintain source list for each material before you make po. once you set source list @ plant level it mandatroy to have source list

Can i just confirm

if i maintain at plant level with SPRO, every product purchased at plant level has to have a source list maintained, before i can raise a PO.

if i do not maintain at plant level with SPRO, i can still maintain individual source lists, which will define sources (fixed, blocked, and dates etc)

please confirm
