brbbackup stopping

Hi all,

When i try to stop brbackup using brbackup -g stop it takes a long time.Whereas when i kill the process it doesnt take that long.Any reason why i takes so long to stop with the command.Thanks.

What kind of backup you are taking, online/offline I haven't came across -g option until now..

by the way what errors you are getting when you are trying to stop backup process

-g stop is used for stopping brbackup.One would be killing th eprocess and the other option is to stop it using the command.Thanks.

"-g" tries to stop threads normally, it might re-put the db online.

killing the process does it hard without checking if it is ok to stop
