Operative Network Update from Standard

We have made some minor changes to the standard network template to modify a few relationships and offsets. We now would like all the operative networks to be updated with these changes. The 'Read Standard Network' feature in Project Builder issues a message that says the network has been updated but the relationships and offsets do not change.

Can the 'Read Standard Network' feature be used for this requirement and if not, is there another way any of you have updated all operative networks with new changes to the standard? For a bit more info, our networks are auto released when the project is created and in many cases, a couple of the up front activities have already been final confirmed. I'm not sure if this is causing a problem with the 'Read Standard Network' feature either.
