I imported a software component from the SLD to the IR.

Now I want to delete it. I can delete it in the SLD.

But how can I get rid of it in my IR. The software component is empty.

Hi Theo,

I think you want to delete a software component version.

Just double click on it in the navigation tree. The editor for the software component version opens. Here you have the possibility to delete the object in the software component version menu entry.

You have to make sure that no objects are contained and that it is not allowed to import RFCs and IDocs.

The software component vanishes automatically when the last software component version is deleted.

Hi Stephan,

thanks for the answer. I did not see the 'delete' button under the 'software component version' tab.

I just did a right mouse click, but not everything is under the right mouse button.

Although I get an error message now '-9402: System error: AK Unexpected strategy information' your anwser was helpful.

Theo--

You can delete software components & versions from the IR in XI 2.0. (We're on Service Pack 5, and I've done it to clean up our IR.)

Here is the process:

1. Delete all configuration and/or import objects from the SCV. Don't forget the 2 fault data types that SAP automatically creates in every namespace.

1a. Activate all change lists? I don't remember for certain if this is needed here; if it won't let you save the deleted namespaces in step 2, then do this first.

2. Double-click on the Software Component Version so that it comes up in the right pane. Click on the change/edit button. Delete all the namespaces from the SCV. Save.

3. Activate all change lists. (It won't let you delete the SCV if you have uncommitted changes.)

4. Open the SCV again (if it's not still open). On the menu at the top of the right pane, go to Software Component Version...Delete. You may or may not have to activate changes again.

If I remember right, the software component will disappear automatically with the deletion of the last version.

Hope this helps!

Hi Theo,

according to this error I suppose (although I am not an expert) that you should update your database. See e.g. note 763192.

Hi Stephan,

I do actually not really care about the error now.

I have no influence on the installation.

It is the RKG system (internal Rampup system) which will also be removed soon since rampup is over now.

According to SAP-Note 763192 the problem should have disappeared with DB-Verion 7.5.00 B14

Our XI uses DB-Version 7.5.0.18, but we still get the error '-9402: System error: AK Unexpected strategy information' when deleting a software component version from the repository.

But changing the DB-Parameter as described in SAP-Note 763192 worked.

I think, there is another way as well.

Like u said, u can delete it from SLD.

Now when u go back to Design Builder(repository) - choose the option where u import the objects of SLD- u get another option there, UPDATE the Components.

Choose this option & it gives u a list.

Choose ur S/w Component & say UPDATE.

It will update it in Design & u'll get rid of it here as well.

Theo,

As of XI 2.0, there doesn't seem any way to delete imported component from IR.

You can ofcourse go through the drastic step of reinstalling IR piece - but why go through all the trouble - simply ignore the component.

Homiar.

Of course I can ignore it but I don't want it.

I have been trying some things on our Rampup XI systems and want to delete the things I have done.

Furthermore I would like to show customers how to setup Software components with a certain naming convention. If they want something different I would like to get rid of the software component they don't want.
