after that you proceed with IS01 for maintain solution,

and from sap help says, chek that too

"//For further information about creating your own solution database, see under http://help.sap.com/ ® SAP Customer Relationship Mgmt. ® SAP CRM 3.1 ® Search for u201ECustomer Service (CS), Solution Databaseu201C ® Solution Database in the Search menu//"

Hi jansi,

thanks for the reply, as already said we are not looking for the standard solman solution databse that is in solman(explained in the blog).

say if i have to maintain a solution databse in a separate system

for searching we dont have TREX and not planning to use , what other options are available for searching? hope we can write abap codes for searching? but how different is TREX searching from search that we would use by custom code

Greetings,

I can't tell you how to write your custom solution database, but on the topic of TREX, I will mention that TREX has a nice fuzzy search and linguistic search feature that will be hard to beat if you are writing your own search. For example if you search your solution database for "transport" then TREX will also find "transported" and "transporting" using the linguistic search; fuzzy search would find "transport" even if you type "transpert". I would hate to have to write my own version of TREX in ABAP

By the way if you don't like the SDB, it's worth noting that SolMan 7.1 will have a different solution database entirely (at least that's the rumor, I haven't seen it myself). Maybe before you invest a lot of time and money in a custom solution, it might be worthwhile getting onto the SolMan 7.1 ramp-up and seeing if it will meet your custom requirement.
