Upgrade from 4.6c to ECC 6.04

Hello,

We are working on SAP upgrade from R/3 4.6c to ECC 6.04 and consider to re-implement RE-FX instead of executing migration from classical RE (RE) to flexible RE (RE-FX).

Do you have any pros and cons for implementing RE-FX vs. technical migration to RE-FX?

Appreciate any thoughts about this!

Regards,

Adina

Dear Adina,

What do you mean by implementation of FX-RE - if you make a brand new implementation, what is going to happen to all of your master data currently used in your Classic Real Estate?

I think it is wiser to follow the SAP standard migration approach to FX-RE. To use the new solution, you first need to activate the Financials Extension Set (EA-FIN) for all clients and then activate the Real Estate Extension for each individual client.

Note that the old solution can then no longer be used. In order to be able to keep using the old solution in a certain client, do not activate the Real Estate Extension there.

Since each client must be activated, you cannot use Classic and Flexible Real Estate on the same client. Both solutions can only exist together if they are on separate clients.

Please, refer to OSS note 443311 for more information on release restrictions and recommendations.

Hope this helps!

KR,

Severina
