Deletion of obsolete materials in APO

Experts,

How to automate the deletion of obsolete materials in APO whose Plant specific material status in ECC has been changed after the materials have been transfered to APO.

Lets say we have the status X1 thats used in the CIF model for material master data, if we change the materials in ECC from status 'I' to OB or IN at a later time. How can automate the deletion of these materials in APO which came through CIF while they were set up with status 'I'.

I would agree with Rishi... You need to flag those materials/product first in ECC then CIF them in APO. After that you have to run the standard program /SAPAPO/DELETE_PRODUCTS (better in background processing especially when you have a lot of flagged materials for deletion).

As far as I know, the standard way to delete products in APO is to flag it for deletion in ECC, the deletion flag is CIF'ed to APO and then run program /SAPAPO/DELETE_PRODUCTS.

I dont think this would work if you have dependent data such as Transportation Lanes, PPM's etc.
