ERP client still thinks it's connected to APO SCM client

We are having a difficult time trying to determine where to tell an ERP client that it is not connected to an SCM client. We have clients 500 and 550 in ERP. At one point we had the same in our SCM environment but 550 has since been deleted. We realized APO is really much more like a BW system than ERP and really should only have one client. Now, in ERP client 550, when trying to create a Sales Order in transaction VA01, we are getting a message "No business system could be determined for logical system SBXCLNT550." When we click on the help, the error message at the bottom of the screen is "Error calling function module /sapapo/cif_help_object_show in system SCXCLNT500 - Screen output without connection to user."

So SBX Client 550 - the ERP system, is trying to communicate with SCX client 500, the APO system. I have tried every transaction I know in both systems to try to turn this off but cannot find it. I spent quite a while creating a message wtiih SAP only to be told that it was a consulting issue. I hate it when that happens.

Help!

Thank you,

Rishi, we finally got the problem solved. The short dumps were being caused by the fact that we had deleted the APO logical system in transaction CFM1. Once SAP pointed me in that direction I was able to deactivate and delete all models, delete the logical system in CFM1, and the original problem went away. But you pointed me in the right direction so thank you very much!

Thank you, Rishi. CFM7 lets me select Active models but not delete them. When I try to it comes back and basically says you have to deactivate it first. The consistency check programs detected no inconsisties. CFM2 is still giving me the short dump and the behavior in VA01 is still the same. You are right about the short dump. I am going to open an OSS ticket on that one!

Thank you, Rishi. I think we are getting closer but I am still having a problem. When I go to CFM2 I can see the models. When I execute the proper screen comes up. I select the model, hit the Activate/Inactivate button and the new status turns to "X." So far so good. However, when I click the start button I get a MESSAGE_TYPE_X short dump every time and the status never changes permanently. Therefore I can't delete the model in transaction CFM7 because only deactivated models can be deleted. So somewhere the client is confused. I wonder if there is a way to deactivate the model in a table somewhere and bypass CFM2?

You should be able to delete even active models from CFM7. In technical settings don't tick 'Select Inactive IM's only'.

Also, try running program RCIFIMAX and RAPOKZFX as consistency checks. And then again try to deactivate the model in CFM2.

You can see models in table CIF_IMOD and it has a field indicating whether its active or not. But I would not suggest editing the table directly. You should be able to raise another OSS message for the short dump..and as long as you dont have any enhancements, they cant say its a consulting issue !

Thanks very much for the answer. Unfortunately, it's still broken. Many of the transactions you cite are client independent in ECC. Since we do want our client 500 connected to the SCM system I cannot delete those entries. I did find the offending client 550 in SMQS and deleted it, hoping that would do the trick but it didn't help. We do want Integration Models in client 500. I deleted all the variants to program RIMODACT in client 550. The problem is still occurring.

What modules of APO are you using ?

Deleting the variants in RIMODACT will not deactivate the integration models. In CFM2 in ECC, enter the logical system of APO (550) that you want to delete. See if you have any active models pointing to this logical system. Deactivate these models.

What modules of APO were you using ?

Please check the following -

1. There is no RFC destination defined in ECC to SCM in transaction SM59.

2. There is no entry in transaction NDV2 in ECC for SCM system.

3. There is no entry in transaction CFC1 in ECC for SCM system.

4. There is no entry in transaction CFC7 in ECC for SCM system.

5. Inbound and Outbound Queues are not registered to SCM system in transactions SMQR and SMQS.

6. In transaction BF11 in ECC, the applications ND-APO and NDI are NOT ticked.

7. There are no active CIF integration models in ECC to the SCM system.

That should do it.
