Hello Team,

Our current landscape is a SAP BW system with SAP ECC and SAP GRC as two source system. As a part of initial setup of the BW system we need to transfer the global setting from the source system to BW.

Thus we need to transfer the global setting from ECC as well as GRC system to BW system. The query is while transfering the global setting from two system will the global setting be overwritten??

If Yes then how this needs to be handled as we need both the global setting in the BW system. Kindly help us in this regards.

Many Thanks

Regards

Akshay

Hi Akshay,

i think it won't be overwrite.

for clarity, please test at dev system.

try to transfer global settings from two source system and check the tables data.

before transfer, please take snap shot of existing data from currency/units tables. so that its easy to compare the transferred units/ucrrencyies to verify.

Thanks

Hi Akshay,

There is an option when doing the transfer to rebuild the settings or just update. If you just use update, then the data will not be refreshed before the settings are transferred. If the rebuild option is used, then I believe the settings will be refreshed first, before loading the settings into BW.

Of course, for any overlaps than those will definitely overwrite when using update (ex. both systems have the unit TON, but the description in one system is Ton, and in the other it is Tonne -- the description in BW will be the one which was replicated/transferred most recently)

Thanks.
