SolMan Diagnostics and Wily Introscope

Hi,

we want to configure the Diagnostics and the Wily Introscope for SAP Support, but we ran into different problems:

u2022 installed Wily Introscope (EM) on SolMan

u2022 solman_setup > Basic Configuration > Diagnostics Configuration

u2022 deployed SP8 Patch 1 of Diagnostics to SolMan

u2022 deployed Wily WebView to SolMan

u2022 installed Diagnostic Agent on Enterprise Portal

u2022 updated SLD > SMSY > defined solution

u2022 workcenter > Root Cause Analysis > Diagnostics Setup > Managed Systems > Setup Wizard > select EP

and now I want to setup my Enterprise Portal, but in the step Setup Parameters I cannot check my EP and it says: The SMD Agent 'portal' hasn't been found!

The Diagnostic Agent is installed on port 97 and the SMD on port 98.

We have restared both systems (SolMan and EP) but nothing helps.

I found nothing in the guides unfortunately nothing in the SDN.

Can someone give me some help?

(SAP EHP 1 for SAP Solution Manager 7.0)

Thanks and regards,

Tobias

If you need it urgently for SAP support, than you better install Wily EM and on the java stack just an SMD agent or the bytecode.

Hi Mark,

This is not ur.gent but we'd like to have it installed!

The Wily EM is installed on the SolMan, and a SMD Agent is running on the Java Instance (EP).

What do you mean with bytecode?

Best regards,

Tobias

What the hell, why can I not write 'not ur.gent?'

You can register an SMD agent directly onto the Wily EM without intervention of SolMan. The byte code is the wily agent which is implemented via the JVM settings of the java stack instead of via SMD agent.

It's described in the Wily installation guide.

Kind regards,

Mark

Hello Mark,

Right, but if I wanna run Workcenter > Root Causes Analysis > Diagnostics Setup > Managed Systems > Introscope Agent i get the following error and found really nothing about it:

java.lang.IllegalAccessError: tried to access method com.sap.sup.admin.setup.WilyHelper.isOfType710(Lcom/sap/sup/admin/abap/landscape/api/TechnicalSystem;)Z from class com.sap.sup.admin.wilyadmin.WilyAdminView

I undeployed the ISAGENT and LM-Service and deployed them again, but its still the same error.

sap.com / ISAGENT	SAP AG / 8.1.0.0.20090605095817	---	---	ISAGENTSMD8SP01_00-10007435.SCA

sap.com / LM-SERVICE	SAP AG / 1000.7.01.8.1.20110311124110	---	---	LMSERVICE08P_1-20004805.SCA

Patch 1 for SOLMANDIAG 7.01 SP08

Maybe thats the fact cause I'm stocked ..

Found a way to impement an agent:

Workcenter > Root Cause Analysis > Agent Administration > Agents > Agent Candidates Management

Use Custom SLD Connection Parameters with an user who has admin rights. Here I can attach the Agent.

After this step, I can goto Diagnostics Setup > Managed Systems > Setup Wizard

and can setup the agent ..

But unfortunately, the link in the Diagnostics Setup > Introscope Agent is still not working, any ideas?

Thanks and regards,

Tobias

Hi Tobias,

You could try to redeploy the LMSERVICE component via the SDM. By redeploy I mean overwriting the existing components rather than an undeploy and deploy. It might solve the issue.
