Business area clearing

Hi Experts,

With our client SAP was implemented in the year 2000. Since the beginning business area clearing activity not taken place. Now, client is asking for tallied trial balance at business area level.

Please advice how to achieve it?. Can we start business area clearing activity from the beginning
