Issue regarding roles in MDM and portal

Hello All,

I am facing a peculiar issue with the roles. There are two users A & B having same role in MDM.

A is able to access to create/modify a customer master record in SAP EP. But if B tries to do the same, he is

getting a error message sales organization and distribution channel error.

Please advise.

check if there are multiple roles assigned for the user B in MDM

if not this is an ONLY an EP issue , compare in EP - the 2 users and their roles so fix this

Hi Susil,

When you say user B creates/changes a record in the portal he gets the error message "sales organization and distribution channel error".

Are those errors are from MDM Validations? did you check in MDM

Did you try logging in MDM with user B credantials and tried creating/chnaging a record, check whether you are getting the same error as you get in the portal. if you get those error messages in MDM , i am sure that you have some conditional validations which are having the Automation execution is set to Error, Turn it to None and try again in MDM and Portal and let us know the results

and also could you please let us know the complete information of the error in the portal,if you have any.

Did you tried logging in MDM with User B and you get the same error when you try to create or change a record?

have you tried logging manually in Data Manager with User B and tried executing same functionality ?

Please check whether the roles of users A and B are same in Portal as well.

Hi SK,

Please check below mentioned things and still if problem reamins then please revert back

1) Please check if all the roles assinged to User A and B are in sync to each other(Portal roles and MDM Roles should match each other)

2) If they match please check if user B is able to make the same changes at both level i.e. MDM GUI level and EP Portal Level.

3) If he is not able to make the changes at any one of the level then you need to check User B's role at minute level.
