EWA changing tresholds

Dear Community,

I'm not sure how to do this but does anybody know if it's possible to change for example the values of reference response times e.g. for dialog tasks? As I know it is set to 1.200ms as a standard value but it's not feasible for each kind of system. For example our BCS system isn't able to reach below 1.200ms without complaining any performance issues. SAP uses this value for any kind of system as reference value.

Can this be changed by the customer to meet the local system behaviour? IT's e.g. from an aduit perspective not so good if that will not be changeable.

THX and kind regards.

Dear Christoph,

EWA reports are not customizable by the user.

The thresholds have been set as part of the system specific check.

Thresholds for SLR can be modified byt he user, but not EWA reports.

I am not sure why Jansi is providing parameter setting information as this has nothing to do

with the thresholds used in EWA reporting, which deal with response times being above or below a threshold defined byt he EWA check.

Paul

Dear Paul,

thanks for confirming that unchangeable value. To be honest i was afraid of that special circumstance.

That means I need to tell or audit guys that that special case cannot be worked out as our BCS system cannot reach a response time below 1200ms.....

Funny that SAP assume one fix value for each kind of system release or system purpose. And in fact we are running on the newest powerpc architecture.

Thanks!

Dear Christoph,

Aside for the threshold value not being reached, aare there any other performance issues that have been alerted?

You may not be meeting that threshold, not because the the server is insufficient, it may be there are other performance issues that are not allowing the system to be within threshold?

However Perfomance Tuning is not my area. If you don't find a specific cause you can address, you may wish to open an OSS message on component SV-BO, advising them that you are running on the newest powerpc architecture and you are not able to meet the thresholds, and perhaps they can review for perfomance related issues that may cause this ?

Regards,

Paul

Thanks for the hint. The other topics look quite good but the access to that system ist mainly done by citrix and I assume bottlenecks at this point. The overall performance of this server looks quite good. Only that treshold isn't reched. Additional I recognized some SQL's that produces CPU costs which are incredible. I think there needs to be investigated and I think I adress it on different locations Thanks for all comments.
