Scripting suddenly not working?

Hi,

Recently our vb scripts stopped working in all our sap clients. I notice the "Script Record & Playback" button

is greyed out and we get a message now in the clients saying "Cannot find GUIxt component".

Sap basis & security said they haven't made any changes to access, we login to sap over citrix so can't

install the GUI locally, could Basis have updated the login pad or something and not installed the GUI properly?

Hi Tony, welcome to the forum,

I suspect 2 things:

1. GuiXT is active -> ALT / F12 -> GuiXT disable

2. Scripting is disable -> http://www.erpexecutive.com/2010/12/how-to-enable-sap-gui-scripting/

Thanks for the reply scriptman. I emailed basis and security a few days ago and told them maybe

they installed/updated the GUI but didn't select scripting.

It seems to be installed now when i check the options and enabled although still not working. Script record/playback

isn't greyed out anymore but it won't record scripts and when i go to play a .vbs file it says scripting support disabled on the

server?

I'm going to email SAP security again and ask them.

Hi

The best way to check is follow the procedure

Open RZ11 -> sapgui/user_scripting = TRUE ( Current value )

sapgui/user_scripting_disable_recording = FALSE.

logoff and logon again

The problem will be solved.

Hi,

Please check in C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui

if the file Guixt.exe dose not exists there this is the reason for this error

in this case you need to reinstall SAP GUI and include in the installation the guixt.dll and guixt.exe  fies
