Chamnap,

For weekly or daily measures you are going to have to build your model in PAS. Cube Builder was designed to allow simple models to be built and maintained by the business-user with the intention of focusing on strategic measures that would have a longer time periods than you want to track.

PAS, on the other hand, has flexibility to accomodate that granularity you seek.

Thank Bob,

so PAS model which build in PAS (in weekly data input), can't be edited in cube builder

So, we have to maintainance PAS model manually when ever we want to modify cube?

I think cube builder should extend functionality for build weekly or daily cube

Chamnap,

Cube Buiider was designed primarily to accomodate those organizations that had manual strategic data and are looking to track that in a performance management system. The design of Cube Builder was meant to stay simple, so that a business user could build and maintain it.

Cube Builder is not designed to pull automated data. You aren't able to tie the Cube Builder model to an outside relational database because of the variations in table structures which need a design of a procedure to match that unique table structure as well as a set the commands to accomodate differences in naming between the table and your model (like DATE = TIME). Doing something of that order is probably a little beyond your typical business user.

You can build a model that allows for daily and weekly data, just not in Cube Builder. Again, since Cube Builder was designed for manual data entry, the thought was that few organizations would have a large set of manual data that needed to be entered daily.

To go to development and ask for an enhancement, as you suggest, it always works better if I have a use case. How would it be used in a real-life situation? If you would be willing to share those kinds of particulars, I am happy to have a discussion with development about this as an enhancement.

Regards,

Bob
