Posting issues - Substitute CC or GL a/c not found

At my client site many employees don't have cost center maintained in IT0001. The FI team created CC which were not in sync with the legacy CC. So we decided not to go the way of assigning CC at Org Unit/position level in OM. We created the legacy CC as it is used in legacy systems. Now I am trying to load these CC in IT0027 with 100% allocation. Though we have not gone live, we are still running live payroll in SAP though the payments happen from the legacy systems.

Now I allocated the legacy CC for an EE whose CC field in IT0001 is blank from 01-Jan-11. January and February 2011 payroll has already been run for this EE. When I try to post it gives me multiple errors:

1. Substitute cost center not found

2. GL a/c not found in chart of accounts.

The CoA has the GL codes for the company code that the EE belongs.

In these forums someone said that the Business Area field in IT0001 needs to be populated. I did this too but with no success.

Can someone please help me figure out the issue? Thanks in advance.
