Beginner - MDM

I am beginner to MDM, I would like to know abaper's role while implementing MDM.

    MDM 3.0 consists of ABAP coding and as well Java Coding, so there can be a need for additional reports, BADI implementations etc. Pretty similiar to every other SAP project.
