Dear Seniors;

I m learner in SAP .... My problem is i created variant but cant see it in final screen of " Generate work Schedule manually"..

The scenerio is:

I have created DWS with Mon to Thursday 8hrs working,Sat /sun Off and FRi half day..

For friday i have used variant :

Rule NO Holiday class Holiday class next day day variant..

MG 01 ..X....... XXXXXXXXXX ....X.. A

Thn assigned the variant to FRI DWS and all DWS to PWS... After tthis created the "set work schedule rule and work schedule" for salaried emp with 8hrs of daily planned working time......

but when i generated the work schedule manually fri is not comiing half day..

Am i missing something plz guide..and the Set work schedule i have assigned working time column details as 8hrs daily.. hope this is not creating this issue ..

Dear lATA

As you have directed there is no need to create fri DWS i created a DWS for management only fr 8hrs and no DWS for 4hrs

DWS: Mgmt

Planned working hr 8hrs assigned selection rule and "A" in the column next to Name space of DWS..

Thn created PWS as:

Mgmt Mgmt Mgmt Mgmt Mgmt Off Off

thn created work schedule rule :

with calculation done on 8hrs basis in working time tab..

thn while i generated work schedule manually got the error:

"Customizing error in daily work schedule 01 MGMT Message no. P2581"

Plz help....

Hi,

In V_T550A table copy your DWS which you have created for Monday to Fridayu2026place u2018Au201D after daily work schedule 4 digit name.

Maintain no. of working hours for half day. You need not to create different DWS for Friday. Generate workschedule with same DWS.

thn created work schedule rule .. but wen m generating work schedule manually fri is not cmng half day...

Am i required to create different work schedule rule and work schedule for salaried emp only for fri with 4hrs in working time tab..

Hi,

Friday DWS name is same as of Monday to Friday. Dont use different name for friday.

Check that You have place "A' after DWS 4 CHARCHTER NAME SPACE.

And the DWS which you have created from monday to friday enter their selection rule no and do not make any entry after DWS 4 CHARACHTER NAME SPACE.

Hope this will resolve your issue.

Hi,

I hope u need to create three different DWS. ex Genr for Monday to Thursday with 8 hrs. Half for Friday with 4 hrs. and Off for sat and sunday.

Then configure PWS as Genr Genr Genr Genr Half Off Off.

Now Generate workschedule rule manually..

HI,

please do follow lata HCM suggestion.... there u can find a small box for maintaining DWS Variant.. here no need to create separate DWS for friday( half day) if u r created a variant for half day to Friday.. u have to maintain that variant single digit cod e in v_t550a table.... do save and in pws delete DWSA ( which u have maintained under friday) maintain DWS and sece that go for generation of work schedule manually.....

Hi Tanya,

We never put selection rule and 'A' in same DWS.

1. Remove 'A' and selection rule from MGMT.

2. Copy MGMT ...place there 'A' after DWS name sapce , do not put selection rule there.

3. Now in Original MGMT i.e. without 'A' insert selection rule & save it.

4. You will see two enteris

10 MGMT

10 MGMT A

5. PWS is :- MGMT MGMT MGMT MGMT MGMT WOFF WOFF

6. Now generate work schedule

Dear Ma'am;

As per ur direction I tried this way i created

a dws for 8 hrs MGMT with variant A

another DWS Mgmt again 8 hrs same name MGMT (copied frm prior dws) assigned selection rule to it..

two DWS: MGMT AND MGMT A

CREATED PWS :

MGMT MGMT MGMT MGMT MGMT OFF OFF

Assigned both ways : on Fri like MGMT selection rule one and MGMT A

But still in bth ways also its not coming 4 hrs on fri ..

I tried the other way also like assigned DWS MGMT A with4 hrs and Original DWS with selection rule with 8hrs and assigned

to PWS likewise but still not coming..

Maam Just check have i creatted the variant properly i have posted it with my very first mail...

Ya its coming now.. thanks..

But i cld nt understand the concept of assigning X at 0 place instead of 2nd.. .. My thot behind that was as its a half day holiday and the half day holiday is assigned with class 2. So i assigned X at 2nd place why have u assigned it at 0 ??

Hi,

X is on first place i.e. today must be working day , friday should be working day, then system should generate 4 woking hours for that day. 2nd Place is for Public Holiday, 3rd Place is for Half Day Holiday, remaining is for customer specific holiday.

Hmmmm Ok.. But can u plzzz explain me with an example where we have to assign half day holiday .. as half day is also half day working and why not 3rd place is assigned here in my case..

Plz explian with an example only for half day for 0 and 3re place ,, rest i m able to understand..

Hi,

Holiday class are used to give certain condition for Quota & Payroll.

Whereas if we maintain holiday class 2 i.e. half day for a day in this case we are just puting a flag for that day.

We need to mention no. of working hours for half day also by a DWS variant it could be 4 hours or 6 hours.

Although i am not very much clr with the concept why we placed X in 1st place at blank and not at 3rd place at 2 , as 2 is half day holiday and fri is a half day holiday.. but i think i must read more abt it
