POS Xpress Clarification

I need to understand what is POS Xpress ? Is it installed on the POS Client, or the store server?

Hello Max,

POS Client for (The customer facing register application) SAP GM (General Merchandise) connects to the POS Server (Xpress Server) that serves PLU lookups and promotions and most business logic.

The POS Client and Xpress Server can be installed on one "machine" for smaller operations or as a separate client server for multi lane environments.

Hello Max,

SAP Xpress server is an essential part of the POS Suite. Listed below are just a FEW of the of the Xpress Server functions:

-The posts sales data to the database from the client

-facilitates credit requests (if not a user exit)

-provides Plu, promotion...etc lookups for the client

-interfaces with the Store manager application
