SBO Backup not backing up one of the Company Database

Former Member

Hi Expert,

My customer environment is :-

Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1

MS-SQL 2005 SP3

SAP B1 2007B PL15 Hotfix

There are 8 company databases ticked in SBO Backup Database tab. 7 of them are backup successfully at the scheduled time, except 1. The MDF file is 3GB and the LDF file is around 800MB. There are still around 45GB free disk spaces remaining in this drive.

May i know why this database not backup?

Thanks,

Taw-Fey

Hi,

see the following sap note

Probably the issue is related to a bug of PL.

Hi Taw......

Are you sure that you are doing back up process?

Because sometimes we go to Task and select Restore by mistake and try to take backup so it does not allow us.....

Also sometimes happens th folder we select to take bakcup does not allow so give different drive path......

Please check proper and let me know......

Hi Rahul,

Thanks for your reply.

My questions is about SBO Backup. I guess you are referring to SQL Backup, which is not my question now.

In the Backup folder indicated, i can see all other 7 database backup except 1. That's the problem i am facing.

Thanks.

Hi,

Are there any restriction or limitation for the ZIP program to work?

For example, unable to zip backup files that are > 3.5 GB?

thanks,

Taw-Fey

Hi Taw-Fey,

No such restriction for the zip. In order to troubleshoot this, uncheck all the databases and select only the problematic database.

Waiting for your reply....

Hi Bala,

I have tried to just run SBO Backup for that particular company. Still no backup happen.

But there is an error in Windows Event Viewer Application Log with SBO Backup.

ERROR

-

The description for Event ID 166 from source SBOBackUp cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

The specified resource type cannot be found in the image file

Please advice what else should i do, thanks.
