is there documentation available explaining which ports are used (and where they can be configured) for LCM communication with the systems in the LCM landscape?

When trying to add new systems outside the LCM-system subnet, the firewall blocks communication. Thanks in advance for any info on this, we're using LCM 3.1 SP3.

6400 port is opened between two server.still i am getting below error when i trying to login og CMS.

Communication error occurred when trying to connect to server cqwboad1:6400 (FWM 01009)

is there any port needs to be open.

Thanks,

Amit

Dear,

of course CMS port must be open (Usually 6400)

more

if you are using SubVersion for your version control then you need port 3690.

and if I'm not wrong you should open also 1801 for Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ).

Then

6400 CMS

3690 Subversion

1801 MSQM

ciao

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

My question is between two server 3690 and 1801 ports are not opened but still i am able to do login in the new job under the source and destination server. in both server there are no security and LCM is working fine.

But the same time in other two server 6400 and 8000 ports are opened but still i am able to getting error communication error.

Any idea on this.

Dear,

"I forgot"

remeber to set the CMS port on CMC --> Server to do not assigne port automatically.

Log on CMC go to server and set CMS properties:

On request port Uncheck Auto Assign

type in the text field the jumber of a port (chose one) and make sure the port is open on the firewal

-

Note----

Are you using Apache or IIS

(Mostly I use port 8080 for Apache)

Ciao,

Massimo

Ciao,

I simulated the issue on a machine a put in the middle a firewall and test:

I will resume all the info with the solution

That what I did to solve teh issue:

These port seems handy to be opened but not necessary.

6400 CMS (for connection)

3690 Subversion (that port is used by subversion)

1801 MSQM

What you must do:

LCM will try to connect with CMS server (for authentication) and then with your ImputFileRepository server (to save the resources) server.

Log on to CMS,

For both server:

CMS

IFR

Chage this porpierty:

On request port Uncheck Auto Assign

type in the text field the number of a port you want to use, make sure the port is open on the firewal, it should do the trik.

Thanks for your help.Auto assign option is already unchecked but the port was not opened between the servers. Now LCM is working.
