Trouble adding an image to existing file

I need to change an image on an existing Xcelsius 2008 file. When I try doing this by deleting the old and adding the new, the program crashes. (I get the error: "Xcelsius encountered a problem and needs to close.") I tried creating a new file and adding an image (just to make sure I was doing it right) and no problem.

FWIW, when Xcelsius crashes, Excel doesn't close properly and I have to go into task manager and manually close it. If I don't do this, Xcelsius won't reopen.

I've tried rebooting, restarting, and everything else I can think of. But the same thing keeps happening.

I have a screen shot of the error report, but I don't see a way to attach to this post.

    Hi Steve,

When you say you're deleting and adding the image, are you referring to the whole image component, or are you changing the image by simply clicking the 'Import' button again?

If you're deleting and adding the component, try adding a new component, linking to an image, and saving the xlf (and close Xcelsius for good measure). Then open, and delete the old image component.

      Hi David,

Sorry. I didn't see that you had replied. I went ahead and created another project file instead.

However, in the event that I encounter this problem again, I would still like to know if there's a solution. In answer to your question, the images are no larger that 100K and the biggest image is 500x30 pixels.

      Thanks,

      Steve

    Hi Steve,

    Try the following workaround:

Create a copy of the XLF file

    Change the Extension as ZIP

    Extract the zip file

One folder will contain all the images used in the dashboard.

just replace the Image (make sure you keep the same name as earlier)

See if this can be of some help.

    Good Luck & Keep Posting.

    Hi Steve,

Can you please mention which version of Xcelsius you are using.

Xcelsus SP 3.5 is the updated one. If you have earlier packs, please update it and check.

    Regards,

    Anjanikumar C.A.
