Trouble adding an image to existing file

I need to change an image on an existing Xcelsius 2008 file. When I try doing this by deleting the old and adding the new, the program crashes. (I get the error: "Xcelsius encountered a problem and needs to close.") I tried creating a new file and adding an image (just to make sure I was doing it right) and no problem.

FWIW, when Xcelsius crashes, Excel doesn't close properly and I have to go into task manager and manually close it. If I don't do this, Xcelsius won't reopen.

I've tried rebooting, restarting, and everything else I can think of. But the same thing keeps happening.
