Capacity check problem in Warehouse mgmt

Former Member

Hi

I have configured my scenario according to the Capacity check method 6. All the parameters mentioned in the SAP note 392776 are covered. Even though capacity check is not working the way it should work..

storage type attributes for stock placement control

SU mgmt: active

Putaway strategy L Capacity check method 6 actual capacity chk: inactive

Dst bin ch. during confirm 1 SUT check : Active

Mixed storage A storage section check: inactive

Addn to stock : inactive Block upon stock plcmt 1

Basic unit of measure of material : kg

capacity usage of material: 1.00 / kg

total capacity on bin: 4.00

Even if above setting s are there, I am able to putaway 16kg of a materilal in a single bin. Why this is so? Total capacity of the bin is being overlooked.

After confirming TO, if I check the the bin status(LS03N).... I can see the capacity related details like below:

Maximum weight 4,000 KG Occupied weight 16,000

Total capacity 4,000 Cap.used 64,000

Utilization XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX 1600,00 No. of quants 1

No.stor.units 1,000

These are unrealistic details. Could you please let me know- what must have been wrong went?

Also, suppose I set the capacity check: F or W in warehouse control parameters, while putting away in foreground, I get message: "Not all the data has been defined for the capacity check (material XXXX)" which further explained that-I am missing the definition of the maximum weight for the material. I've looked in the material master and I think I have everything defined. If i have defined capacity check: W , then I able able to overpass the message and confront the unrealistic situation expained above.

Kindly help me resolve this situation

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Firstly, you did not mention the capacity of the SUT (because you are using option 6). This must be done in SPRO - LE - WM - Strategies - Activate Storage Bin Type Search - Storage Unit Types. You should actually get an error if this is not maintained.

Then, the figures you see is not unrealistic. Option 6 does not check weights. It checks the capacity of the material plus the capacity of the SUT. If you want to use weights as capacity checks then use option 1 or option 4 for your ST.

Change your config to 4 (there you can use weight and volume in conjunction with one another).

Cheers,

Hein
