MC45 differences

Difference when MC45 is run.

Eg: if MC45 is run from october to december, it shows value as 300. So this value should be the sum if MC45 is run for october, november and december separately too.

Also need to know the logic on how MC45 is getting the values.

You did not show and not tell what differences you actually see.

in MC45 result select from menu EDIT > Display detail

you get a pop-up , please select Movements

you get a screen that shows all movements accumulated by date

you can again go into detail and SAP will take you even into single material documents.

So analyze each of your selection this way and you will probably find out which movement is making the difference

Thanks Jurgen for the response.

Few more details: The detailed display wont show up if you run it for cumulative plants. I am running MC45 for single material for cumulative plant.

I run MC45 3 times.

For first run: I select usage value period as October and November and the usage i get is 9008 qty.

For second run: I select usage period as October ONLY and I get 4658 qty.

For third run: I select usage period as November ONLY and I get 4944 qty.

So logically the usage for October and November when run together should be the sum of usage if run for October and November individually, ie: 4658+4944 = 9602 which does not match to 9008.

It sounds logical what you say, however, on the other hand this transaction was stable for many many years, no OSS notes for a long time already.

I can't help from a distance without seeing the data of each execution in detail.

There is probably no one able to do the reconciliation based on the given info, so it is something what you have to do yourself, by comparing the movements of each execution. Check if some material documents are missing in the first run compared to the 2nd and 3rd run, or if some from the 2nd run also appear in the 3rd run. It might have to do with movements posted into the previous period . Depending on the number of movements it might be a tedious work, but it is the only way to find the root cause.

Jurgen, I was able to figure it out.

The calculations MC45 is doing is based on the period indicator setup in master data for the given material. eg: even if we give 1st November as start date, it was calculating from the date of start of week of 1st November, ie: 30th October since its maintained as weekly period indicator. So when I ran it for different months separately, the calculations overlapped the dates and hence the difference.

Thanks for trying to help me out.
